Replied on Internal Practice 1

Michele Taylor  Some people are religious, and others aren't.  If you are looking to grow with perspectives from others, and be more inclusive towards all beliefs, that's great! For me, the word "blessed", a religious/spiritual word, has always bugged me.  Oftentimes the "blessings" people refer to are a result of privilege and luck.  To imply that a divine power has chosen them to have that privilege and luck, and not others, can come off as self-aggrandizing.  For example, someone saying they have been blessed with good health implies that people with a chronic illness somehow don't deserve that same "blessing".   They are healthier because they were chosen to be.  I respect the belief, but disagree. Then to imply that your choices can bless someone takes things to another level.  Can your choices "invoke divine favor"?  I love hard questions that don't have easy answers, but if we are getting into religious/spiritual concepts I don't align my values with, it won't be helpful unfortunately.

So this was... interesting.  I love Pilates.  I love how it makes me feel, the stretching, the strength, meditation, time for myself...  I'm doing this internal practice because I committed to doing all of the challenge, even the hokey parts.  And this part is way hokey.  I don't love trying to answer how my goals will bless me or those around me.   That's a very strange word to use, kind of puts it over the top for me.  Maybe the other internal practices will have more answerable questions.  But someone really should have read through these before publishing.    Still love you guys, but come on.. 😜

Hi, I'm Jacqueline from Queen Creek, Arizona.  I used to work out in a pilates studio, but life got a little hectic.  I have been doing Corefirst at home for about a month now and I really like it so far!Â
