In some videos they will tell you how far your cord is supposed to be from the connector to the mat. I usually pay attention to how far their cords are in the video. I put my mat as far as it extends to the first level and my cord is about the middle area loosely. Then I adjust myself 1:2:3:4, or however it feels right in my body. I have mines wrapped around my coffee table, not on the floor part, but in the higher part of the table and I think I keep mines about a foot or maybe two away. I am using the older version of corefirst. I think the newer version is the same but I bought the extenders to help me with lengthening my cord into the areas I needed to be.
